Delhi Police have arrested Jaiparkash alias Bittu, a proclaimed offender and active member of the notorious Bawaria gang, who had been absconding for years. He was wanted in multiple cases across several states, and his arrest followed a tip-off and technical surveillance.
Two wanted members of the Bawaria gang were killed in an encounter with police in Mathura. The accused were wanted in connection with a dacoity. Two police personnel sustained injuries in the encounter.
Uttar Pradesh Police conducted 35 encounters across the state, resulting in the deaths of three alleged criminals, injuries to more than 36, and the arrest of over 60 suspects. The crackdown reflects the state government's zero-tolerance policy against crime and ongoing efforts to combat organised criminal networks.
